Un po’ di neve – a bit of snow. Well, that may seem fairly understated as there was a lot of snow on the Plätzwiese, a high plateau in the Dolomites in South Tyrol, when we were there. It hat snowed the night before – as you can clearly see on the amount of snow on the trees and, well, everywhere. You might even see a few glimpses of snowflakes in some of the pictures if you look closely enough!
The biggest problem with snow is that it is bright white and glowing, especially when the sun is shining, leading easily to either overexposed pictures. On the other hand, the harsh light produces sharp contrasts, which is what I focused on, mostly, in these shots – most of them are therefore in black and white to emphasise these contrasts.
The shots were taken with the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 lens and the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro lens.
